Dyke reinforcement Hasselt - Zwolle with steel Z-sheet piles

Dyke reinforcement Hasselt-Zwolle

A dike reinforcement with Z-sheet piles
The project involved reinforcing the dyke of the historic Stenendijk in Hasselt. This old Zuiderzee barrier was reinforced by driving 12 metre long sheet piles into the dyke over a length of more than one kilometre. This was done completely electrically. This makes it the first dyke reinforcement in the Netherlands to be carried out emission-free. The project is part of the national flood protection programme (HWBP), the largest dyke reinforcement project since the Delta Works.
